Art Therapy
My initial workshops in Art Therapy in the 1990s targeted businesswomen and members of the International Women’s Forum. We pioneered the concept of art therapy workhops in Poland and provided working women with an artistic outlet. Women discovered firsthand that their daily stress faded as they unraveled their creative abilities and fulfilled their creative passion. Subsequently, through my work in the Second Private Secondary School in Warsaw (2SLO), I discovered the creative energy and talents of youth and the need to provide an outlet through which youth can express their artistic abilities.
From 2001 through 2006, I worked with youth and adults from the Center of Rehabilitation in Konstancin-Jeziorna (CKiR). The art workshops aimed at providing patients with a venue and the means to self-develop by engaging in artistic work. As a result of a very successful cooperation with CKiR, patients’ paintings can be seen at an ongoing art exhibit in a number of CKiR centers.
I currently teach painting, drawing and art therapy in collaboration with the European Institute of Professional Development. I believe that everyone is artistically inclined and has the ability to perceive their surroundings in a sensitive way. Art therapy, or art workshops, can serve as a key to discovering this inner ability. In my workshops, regardless of the audience, one can express himself or herself through art. This enables one to generate positive energy, belief in one’s abilities and feelings of nourishment, fulfillment and safety. With time these may translate into better health and wellbeing.
During my workshops I treat everyone individually. Many participants decide to take lessons learned beyond the class and continue in their creative, healing journeys in their own homes.
